Great news! As of this spring we have begun partnerships with the Public Relations Student Society of America and the Consulting Group here at Virginia Tech.
The Firm is a student-run branch of PRSSA, a public relations pre-professional society, that partners with organizations to improve their business operations and communications.
The Consulting Group at Virginia Tech offers pro bono business counseling. It enables industries and organizations to succeed through maintaining clientele’s public image.
We are so excited and thrilled to see these partnerships and look forward to developing further as an organization with both PRSSA and the Consulting Group. Through both partnerships, we plan on opening 8 to 10 rural learning centers in Tanzania by 2023. With the help of these organizations, we will develop a more structured marketing and fundraising strategy so that we can help the people of rural Tanzania. That way we can deliver to them the educational books and build centers needed to improve their education. We will also be creating a roadmap and a timeline for Soma International’s growing future.
Emily Keshap, our Virginia Tech President, will focus on meeting with the Consulting Group biweekly. She will work closely with the Consulting Group team to gather project information and think creatively to come up with new strategies. Mackenzie Hyde will serve as PRSSA’s Account Coordinator, and she will work with them on all initiatives.
We are looking forward to working with PRSSA and the Consulting Group to grow a larger public image and to spread the word about Soma. We look forward to sharing our initiatives with you as progress is made, and sharing any updates given over this coming semester! Thank you for reading and sharing this journey with us.
